A speakeasy is a clandestine, illicit establishment that sold alcoholic beverages during the Prohibition era in the United States (1920–1933). Known for operating in secret to avoid detection, these venues required patrons to "speak easy" (quietly) about their existence, often hidden behind false fronts in residential or commercial buildings. Modern speakeasies are legal, themed bars that replicate this vintage, exclusive, and often hard-to-find atmosphere.
