First solo exhibition of the artists in Ramsgate
Daily 11am - 5pm
Combining folk imagery and industrial materials, David Nettleingham's first solo exhibition explores the relationship between the natural and unnatural, the politics of ownership, and access to landscapes real and imagined.
Through sculpture and painting, the exhibition explores a tension between the competing interests of enclosure, capitalism and environmental exploitation on one hand, and on the other, of resistance, common ownership and democracy. The works draw on the visual language of folk horror, on geology and deep time, and on the underlying fragility of the things we take for granted.
