This workshop at the Windmill Community Gardens is aimed at anyone interested in fermented/pickled food and drink
1pm - 3pm
In these sessions different ways to preserve the best of the season through communal fermenting and pickling will be explored.
Each session will begin with a wander round the garden to see what can be used before settling in to prepare our preserve together and chat about the craft and history of pickling and about fermentation as a gentler way of interacting with the natural world.
Copies of Thom’s book The Philosophy of Pickles will be available to buy.
Bring some lunch along and come early to settle in and enjoy your lunch in the garden.
This workshop is aimed at those ages 16+ (all under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.)
This workshop is a part of the Windmill Community Gardens Community Roots Programme which is a new project which has been funded by UK Government, with an opportunity to collaborate with local facilitators and volunteers, to become a Community Hub for learning and wellbeing.
