With Paul Camo & Margate Radio at Where Else? in Margate
1pm - 4pm
Continuing the legacy of DIY movements that have paved the way for what is done at Margate Radio, this workshop for The Kent Pop Exchange will explore the medium of radio.
A crucial part of all DIY music scenes... look at how you can utilise radio, easier than ever to do, to get connected with audiences, to build community, and share the story of your community through the power of your own voice and some decent tunes.
In this workshop:
- Understand the history of DIY independent online radio - the legacy of DIY culture, its connection to modern day pirate radio & community radio, its importance and significance in our culture.
- Explore using radio to tell your story & finding your audience - how do you get started with planning and delivering a broadcast? What do we want to tell the world?
- Go live on Margate Radio - produce a 1 hour collective live show broadcast.
- Bring your USBs loaded with your favourite tracks!
Led by Margate Radio's founder/director and NTS Radio Host, Paul Camo.
All ages (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult)
