Join Nicci this May half term for a joyful picture book celebration inspired by The Ice Cream Crocodile by Mariesa Dulak at Staple in St Peters

9.30am - 10am

Perfect for young children and families, this special holiday book club will include a shared storytime, chatting together about friendship, confidence and discovering your own special talents, plus themed creative activities inspired by this fabulous circus adventure. Expect imagination, laughter and plenty of bookish fun in the bookshop!

Elvis the crocodile absolutely LOVES circus life - the excitement, the crowds, the treats and the dazzling performances. But there’s one problem… the ringmaster Sidney only allows fluffy and feathery animals centre stage. Surely a crocodile could never be a star performer?

Warm, funny and full of heart, The Ice Cream Crocodile is a wonderfully uplifting story about believing in yourself, finding where you belong, and refusing to be sidelined. Paired with Rebecca Cobb’s utterly gorgeous illustrations, it’s a picture book full of colour, charm and big emotions.

A lovely event for children who enjoy playful stories, expressive artwork and interactive bookshop fun during the school holidays.

The bookshop is on the first floor, accessed via a flight of stairs.

Children will sit for the reading, then move to a play/craft table for activities. All materials are provided and age-appropriate.

Adults may stay for the event (limited seating available) or relax with a coffee and pastry downstairs in Staple.
