The Walpole Bay Hotel, built in 1914 and extended in 1927, is a family-run hotel, owned by the Bishop family since 1995.
The owner, Jane Bishop, will conduct a guided tour of the hotel and tell a little of its long history. The hotel incorporates a Living Museum, with all floors packed with exhibits.
Enter the hotel by the original marble steps, dating from 1914, and take the marvellous trellis-gated Otis lift, installed in 1927 and still working perfectly.
In the reception and on all five floors are items of interest.
Being taken on a guided tour of this amazing building by Jane Bishop is an opportunity not to be missed.
