All ages family friendly afternoon disco at the Margate Arts Club... because the family that gets down together don't frown together!
2pm - 5pm
As part of their ongoing commitment to welcoming the broadest range of feet to the dance floor (and following the joy-filled success of our New Year’s daytime gathering) they're delighted to announce the first of what they hope will become a regular fixture at Margate Arts Club... Hoogie Boogie!
Hoogie Boogie is a place for big feet and little feet. It's not a kids' disco. It's three hours of absolutely in-the-pocket music that you can share with your little people. Because dancing is important, dancing together is fundamental, and little people feel the music in a way that that sometimes we forget how to.
Hosted by Uncle Simes - a disciple of Joy who loves to dance - and with resident DJ Alex Ratcliffe - a man of eclectic musical taste, ranging from funk/soul/disco to 60’s garage rock, new wave and 80’s synth. He’s no snob though, and will play what the people want to hear if he’s got it in his bag.
They will be joined by guest DJs also of eclectic persuasions, all of whom desire nothing more than to keep the dance floor poppin’.
