Mamas Gun is a London-based British soul/pop band formed in 2007 by singer, songwriter, and producer Andy Platts.

Known for their blend of classic soul, funk, pop, and modern R&B influences, the band has built an international following thanks to their polished songwriting, rich harmonies, and energetic live performances.

The current lineup includes Andy Platts (vocals), David Oliver (keyboards), Terry Lewis (guitar), Cameron Dawson (bass), and Chris Boot (drums). The band’s name was inspired by the album Mama’s Gun by Erykah Badu.

Mamas Gun first gained major attention with their 2009 debut album, Routes to Riches. The single “House on a Hill” became a major radio hit in Japan, helping the band become one of the most-played international acts on Japanese radio that year.

Over the years, they’ve released acclaimed albums including: The Life and Soul (2011), Cheap Hotel (2014), Golden Days (2018), Cure the Jones (2022) and Dig! (2026)

Their sound is often compared to artists such as Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and Bill Withers, while maintaining a contemporary feel that has earned them fans across Europe, Asia, and beyond.
