"A Very Original, Great Singer/Songwriter!" - Kent Folk on BBC Radio Kent
From foot-stomping folk to heartfelt ballads to historical commentary and story telling, Nick draws from the well of traditional and contemporary folk to compose his songs. His compositions evoke images of centuries gone by, be that wassailing in the winter, the re-telling of Viking raids in Kent, or spurned love.
In this past year, Nick has travelled around the UK performing at festivals such as England's Medieval Festival, UK West Coast Folk Festival, Ely Folk Festival (where Nick won the Spotlight Competition), Filey Folk Festival, Sandwich Folk & Ale Festival and Rochester Sweeps Festival , and has been booked for and Southdowns Folk Festival. In the past, he has even performed at Eaglewood Folk Festival in Ontario, Canada, and was a regular on the much missed BBC Radio Kent show Douglas Welch's “Kent Folk”.
In October 2024, Nick released his new EP 'Of Ash & Oak' which comprises of five folk songs, four of which are very much in the traditional folk vein. A follow up EP, 'Growing Up, Growing Old or Dying', was released in April 2025 and consisted of traditional folk songs that audience members requested recordings of.
