Join the Powell-Cotton Museum for a weekend of beautiful live Japanese music and creative family-friendly activities, including fan-decorating, trails and Manga art workshops.

In 1891 Percy Powell-Cotton visited Japan as part of his big world trip. Whilst there he bought many beautiful ‘souvenirs’, some of which are on display in the museum today.

Live Music

Immerse yourself in the sounds of Japan across the weekend.

Saturday 12th will feature Aki Kitagawa playing Koto and Clementine Blue on synthesisers.

Sunday 13th we present Hibiki Ichikawa on Shamisen and Akari Mochizuki vocalising traditional Japanese folk songs. Aki Kitagawa will also join us for solo performances on the Koto.
