A vibrant family dance parade performance that digs up the joy and togetherness of working the land and the simple pleasures of gathering and celebrating harvest, at Pierremont Hall, Broadstairs.
1pm Repeats 3 times until 4pm
The colourful life-sized tractor bubbles with life, creating a captivating mobile centrepiece that invites everyone to follow along and join us. The intergenerational dance team bursts out of the cab with MCDC’s signature mash-up of contemporary and hip hop. Groove, popping and breaking is infused with uplifting and joyful British and Slavik folk culture, while Randolph Matthews’ irrepressible urban beats re-energise heritage folk tunes to get audiences clapping and stomping along.
As the colourful tractor trundles along, the dancers get stuck into the earth for planting, planting seeds of imagination to grow and harvest. When they stumble across problems in the field, their giant tractor friend lends a helping hand, teaching them about hard work, team spirit and lightening their load.
At the end, audiences are invited to join in a harvest parade with simple dance and body percussion, slapping, stomping, grooving and whooping together, shaking the earth, joining hands and celebrating the joy of the season and what we share through the ages – it’s Tractor Time!
All performances are free and take place outside with limited seating!
