It’s the perfect day out for families, young explorers and badge‑hunters eager to begin their 2026 adventure across Kent at the Powell-Cotton Museum in Birchington
11am - 2pm
The celebrations begin with a welcome from the scheme’s Patron, Lady Colgrain, the Lord Lieutenant of Kent, followed by a joyful burst of colour as Wheels of Time award‑winning children fire party cannons to officially open the season. Throughout the day, you’ll also have the chance to meet representatives from many of the 53 participating heritage venues, all gathered here to mark the start of another fantastic year of discovery.
Visitors can pick up a 2026 Wheels of Time map, meet our team, explore the Museum’s newly opened Welcome Space, and enjoy the award‑winning gardens, historic dioramas and family‑friendly displays that make our site such a special place to start your journey.
