Come to Dane Park this summer and try badminton, volleyball, football, basketball, rounders and more.
1.30pm - 2.30pm (Every Tuesday)
Thanet District Council are going to be getting active this Summer in Dane Park for free thanks to funding from Active Kent and Medway.
Come and try badminton, rounders, football, tennis, volleyball, basketball and more. You do not need to be good at sport or have done any of the activities before to come and play.
The Tuesday 1.30 pm - 2.30 pm session is free for all women and children or grandchildren of any gender. They know it can sometimes feel really intimidating getting active, especially if you haven't tried something before. They are running this session to try and encourage all women of any age or ability to come and have a go at something new. They also know childcare can be a huge barrier so all children are welcome to join before school pick ups in the afternoon. The whole community is welcome and we want to inspire more female coaches for the future.
Ellen Thatcher is going to lead this session and will be on hand to give coaching tips and set up activities but they will welcome any ideas for games and are looking for volunteers and a next generation of coaches to help them all summer.
