Sandwich & Pegwell Bay Nature Reserve - a complex mosaic of habitats of international importance for its bird population.
The Trust's largest and one of its most important nature reserves, with the only ancient dune pasture in Kent. The reserve is made up of a complex mosaic of habitats: inter-tidal mudflats, saltmarsh, shingle beach, sand dunes, ancient dune pastures, chalk cliffs, wave cut platform and coastal scrubland.
The reserve is of international importance for its waders and wildfowl, best seen over winter or during the spring and autumn migrations
Ample car parking is available. Kent County Council manage the car park which charges £1.30 a day Monday-Friday or £2 for weekends and Bank holiday. Sandwich Bay has a toll gate - £7 per car
*Pegwell Bay Country Park part of the Sandwich and Pegwell Bay National Nature Reserve has received a 'Green Flag Award' from Keep Britain Tidy.
Opens at 9am and closes at dusk or 9pm (whichever is earlier)
