Active Ramsgate

Active and Outdoors

If getting outdoors and keeping active is your pastime of choice, then Active Ramsgate is for you. Featuring activities such as cycling routes, walking trails, birdwatching and kayaking, there is something for everyone…

Ramsgate – not only is it the only Royal Harbour in the country, but it is a place steeped in history, natural beauty, adventure and charm, all on the Kent Coast. Visitors and residents alike can begin to discover more of the incredible surroundings of Ramsgate and places around the town on one of the seven walking trails which can be downloaded from the Visit Ramsgate website

  • The Contra Trail: Ramsgate to Pegwell Bay
  • Sea It All: Ramsgate to Broadstairs
  • Town Rounders: Regency, Royal and Riviera
  • Beach Roamer: Ramsgate to Margate
  • The Way of St Augustine: Ramsgate to Canterbury
  • England Coastal Path: Ramsgate to Camber
  • Augustine Camino: Rochester Cathedral to Ramsgate

Active Ramsgate not only features scenic walking trails, but also family-friendly cycle routes including the Pier to Pier Cycling Trail and even kayak routes, all in downloadable, easy-to-use format.

Or how about Pickleball? One of the hottest new sports to come over from America, Ramsgate has one of the only outdoor pickleball courts in the UK.

If any of these experiences sound like your cup of tea, then a trip to Ramsgate is on the cards - and don't forget to stop off at one of the local cafes and bars based around the Harbour for a truly continental feel.

“Ramsgate’s at the Land’s End of the south-east; the getaway place with great scenery and the great outdoors. (And it’s just down the line from London.)”- Nicholas Crane, Presenter of the BBC Coast series
