The Palace Cinema are opening for two free special events as a way to say ‘thank you’ to National Lottery players who have supported them over the years, as well as welcoming new visitors!

The first event is this Illustrated talk with lots of pics and clips, from newsreel to spy drama to Empire of Light, and from serious tales of modern life to musicals and romcoms, plus rare archive footage from Screen Archive South East.

More than £32 million is raised for good causes every week by National Lottery players, and in recent years the Palace has been lucky to receive a little of this via BFI Film Hub South East. They have put lottery funding towards film seasons, local film heritage programmes and education projects, all aimed at expanding and growing what the Palace offers and who they reach in our local communities and beyond.
