Art which explores the daily 'half-seen' by repositioning as still life at Ramsgate's Hold Creative art gallery
12 noon - 4pm
Private view 24th July 7pm
In her perennial pursuit to understand why there is such pleasure in the painting process, in the richness of pattern and the exuberance of high colour, in this collection she reclaims, embraces, challenges and celebrates the decorative and sentimental qualities of her everyday objects.
With a nod to a playful notion of classicism and theatre, and a wink to the suburban net curtains and storytelling of her childhood, alongside an evident love of colour and decoration, she offers the clearly seen, alongside the half seen and a glimpse of the imagined.
Alongside each of the central paintings are additional works using motifs manipulated to create new imagery; a hidden inner secret to fuel the imagination and develop new stories, acting as a subtext or intrigue for the viewer.
