First Friday (est. 2009) is a monthly evening of inquiry, where artists, writers, musicians, film-makers, and technologists showcase new work and present their research to an inquisitive audience.
As always, there is a welcoming, engaging and encouraging atmosphere.
February's evening will be shared with an exhibition at Pie Factory, Margate. Come along to explore the things Margate has lost, and how they’re different for different residents...As part of the LOST Margate exhibition, First Fridays are hosting a talk about Margate’s lost cinemas and Margate Pride will present their new heritage project, exploring Margate’s lost gay bars and clubs.
If you are visiting both, be sure to be at Marine Studios for 7.00pm, when Corinna Downing (Palace Cinema), will be speaking for around 30 minutes about Margate’s lost cinemas.
Everyone welcome. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
