A fun and sociable way to try out a new craft and make your own bespoke tufted creation at Ellen Tufts Studio in Cliftonville
9.30am - 5.30pm
Limited to 6 spaces, this popular one day workshop will guide you through the creative process as well as teaching you the practical skills of how to safely and successfully use a tufting gun.
Students will learn the basics of how to use both loop and cut pile tufting guns, as well as different types of yarn and the other materials used in tufting. By the end of the workshop you will have created you own tufted textile artwork in the form of a mini rug or wall hanging (max size 65x65cm). With a maximum of 6 students, everyone gets plenty of help and specialist advice.
Ellen will contact participants prior to the workshop to prepare their design ideas and to give them a colour chart from which they can select the yarns they wish to use. Please look out for this email, check junk folders or get in touch with Ellen if you haven't been contacted within 2 weeks before the workshop.
Students can either take their piece away with them if they finish it or arrange for collection or delivery depending on what is most convenient. Most people finish some time between 3.30pm and 5.30pm depending on their speed and complexity of the design.
