Celebrating forty years of the wonderful Monkton Nature Reserve being open
11am - 3pm
In 1985, the first building was built - the Field Study Centre... and from this point, the reserve has evolved and developed more positively than anyone could have wished.
The Reserve would like to take this day to honour all the people from the last 40 years whose collaborative efforts have led them to where they are today.
You can expect a tombola, a guided nature walk, a conservation talk from the Warden, a matchbox challenge for children, a photobooth, plants and pre-loved books for sale as well as a 'Walk through time' and a range of stalls.
Reverend Jonathan Aitken, who opened the reserve in 1985, will be returning to the site and giving a speech at 1pm.
All in all, it's set to be a cracking day and they would love to see you there - it'll be free entry for all... Please car-share wherever possible!
