Join Nicci at Happy Reading Children’s Bookshop in St Peters for a special Book Club celebrating the Bayeux Tapestry!

8.30am - 9am

As the Bayeux Tapestry makes its historic return to England for a once-in-a-generation exhibition at the British Museum, this special Book Club is the perfect opportunity for young readers to discover its incredible story through books, creativity and colouring.

The tapestry will be on display in London from September 2026, marking its first return to England in almost 1,000 years.

Perfect for children aged 5–9... enjoy reading together before bringing history to life by colouring your very own Bayeux Tapestry book.

Suitable for children aged 5-9
Event duration: approx. 30 minutes
Ticket price: £5 per child (includes a paperback copy of the book, usually £6.99)
Booking is essential — spaces are limited!

The bookshop is on the first floor, accessed via a flight of stairs.

Children will sit for the reading, then move to a play/craft table for activities. All materials are provided and age-appropriate.

Adults may stay for the event (limited seating available) or relax with a coffee and pastry downstairs in Staple.
