The structured 2 hour introduction to handbuild pottery is idea for those who are completely new to pottery and wish to both trial pottery whilst creating a handbuild fuctional piece. With their teaching approach you can expect to get your hands dirty and sculpting in the first 10 minutes. They’ll teach simple handbuild slabbing and coil building techniques as well as simple surface decoration.
In this session, you'll start with a small and progress to either a cup, vase, jug or tea light. Maybe more! At the end of the session you can decide if you would like to have your pieces fired and glazed for an additional cost of £4-£12/piece depending on the size and volume and is payable on the day.
Once you have taken an introductory handbuild class it is possible to book a 6 week structured introduction to handbuild pottery, book into casual studio sessions. They also run a week long intensive hand and wheel pottery course in the Summer.
