With the current heatwave bringing high temperatures to our district, we want to welcome everyone to the Isle of Thanet's 16 beautiful beaches and bays

We want to ensure your visit is as safe as it is enjoyable, especially as the combination of extreme heat, busy beaches and coastal waters presents unique safety challenges.

So before you pack your bags and head off, please check our guide to beach safety to ensure a safe, enjoyable visit.

Did you know we have 19 miles of award winning stretching from Minnis Bay in the north to Pegwell Bay in the south. Discover our Beaches and Bays

Be Water Wise

RNLI Lifeguards (Royal National Lifeboat Institute), patrol our beaches and bays throughout the summer season. Please remember to stay safe following their beach safety advice  whether undertaking your daily exercise or having a day at the coast. Remember the tides as you can get cut off

Respect the Water is a campaign run by the RNLI providing information on understanding waves, tides and swimming safely in the sea. To find out more visit the RNLI website
