The Thanet coastline, which takes in the seaside resorts of Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate, is beautiful.

Thanet's 16 sandy beaches and bays stretch from Pegwell Bay in the south to Minnis Bay in the north and are simply impossible to resist.

Long famous for their beauty, this year has notched up seven Blue Flag awards and fourteen Seaside Awards. Their variety astounds too - surfer hangouts neighbour chalk-backed expanses. Here you can surf, swim or sail. Gaze into rock pools, build a sandcastle, cycle shorelines, munch on chips, go barefoot beachcombing or simply chill out.

To find the location of our beaches, see our map.

Our Coastal Explorer Packs are great for families and individuals of all ages and provide tools and information to help you explore Thanet’s beaches, the rich natural environment and historical heritage.  A trail map highlights activities such as ‘art on the beach’, ‘seaweed and shell search’, ‘play hopscotch’ and learn about the weather and clouds.
